Going Back To The Old Neighborhood

Here are the indoor diggs with
LED lighting. Tadpole (Froglet)
in the back is contemplating it's
escape. While it still has it's tail
it's only matter of days before it
hops to it's fate that awaits it.

There are six other tadpoles keeping
the Guppies company and help with
some clean up duties in this Tadpolearium. Needless to say I will have to capture this
fledging Froglet and return it to it's original hangout outdoors in the sunshine and nature.
Nature with all it's trappings.

Looking at it's adolescent neighborhood from a perspective from above and taking
it all in with nostalgia for it's watery diggs?

While scoping out a good landing spot close to it's brother or cousin who's days
older than this boomerang of a Frog and has navigated this all too familiar and
yet temporary home.

                                                                            "I got this"

The duck weed on it's left shoulder makes me wonder if it's been feeding from it's
gene pool, the original outdoor Tapolearium. Introducing a Frog eat Frog world.

Beaded Yogurt Wrapper Beads - Work In Progress

Not only is Siggi's Icelandic Skyr cream yogurt really good.
They have these peal a way , beautifully illustrated wrappers
done on card stock that is easily applied to this centuries old
way of making paper beads. This is one way of recycling and
make for a great canvas for any ideas one might have to explore
and to tap your Muse.

Who's Pondering, Who's Reflecting?

The Promise Of New Beginnings - cont'd

New brood spotted this afternoon. One saying to other, "We're doing this
together whether you like it or not."

The Promise Of New Beginnings

Heirloom Tomato 'Turkish Delight', meaty and with
some acid, plum tomato. Seed planted last week
from a purchase of said tomato from our Farmers
Curbside Market.

I was having my doubts and have had imaginings
from the reflections on and though the glass top,
whether these would take or just rot.
To my pleasant surprise today to spy the bright
green spout that no reflection or trick of lighting could possibly imitate. The life
and hope that a new sprout can bring during our dry season and not to mention the
accompanied shortening of daylight hours.

Water, spiked with the added Ammonia from my Tadpole water giving a little bit
of nutrients. Making this aquaculture contributing to it's and my own well being.

From One Extreme To Another

Having absorbed it's tail it loses half it's length and it's hard to grasp just
how small this guy is. The odds of it growing up yet surviving to reach
to where it can regenerate aren't very good.

This is what I believed produced these Tadpoles. A non-native that has
been around now for sometime that some would not question it's right
to be among the rest of long time Florida residents.

Now I Pronounce You Frog

With some remnants of a tail, contemplating what is beyond it's wet confines.

My attempt to entice it with a feast of Aphids, not knowing even if it has
an appetite for such fare.

Two little guys taking to the dry reaches distinguishing themselves from what
swims below.

One Froglet Coming Up

One of the first Tadpoles that I've seen transformed in to what I'm to
understand to be a Froglet. The only thing it needs to do is absorb that
tail that it has, so has not to drag it down once it leaves this watery
world.

Has much as I wanted the picture above to stand on it's own. I felt that
I had to include this picture, also. To show this Froglet getting a taste
of freedom it's watery origins.

FollowUP On - You Don't Have To Look Very Far

The eggs have hatched two to three days later and here it is later in the afternoon.

This little creature is thought to be an Asian Multicolored Lady Beetle, not to be
confused with our native Lady Bug. Although both are known to eat their
fair share of Aphids so there is no reason to mess with their existence.

I hope these little guys find the Aphids because who ever was the strategist that
laid these eggs missed their mark big time. The majority of Aphids are across the
yard doing their number on the Podacarpus hedge, this time of the year. Not to mention
the opportunist Aphids trying to catch hold where my potted Eggplant resides, relatively
speaking must be like on the other side of the world to where these guy were born
into existence.

The folks at http://www.whatsthatbug.com have been very helpful in identifying
said bug.

You Don't Have To Look Very Far

An orange glint that caught my eye clutching to life off the suspended
roots of an orchid.

I had to introduce the contrasting and textured cloth in order to force my
phone's lens to focus on these little gems. Thumb and nail shown for a size
reference.

Same clutch of eggs looking down and left in tacked to the host plant.

A set of spent eggs, noticing that root is dried up as well compared to those
more viable roots in the background.

It just goes to show that you needn't look farther than your yard for the wonders
of life. Next stage is to identify and take a couple more pictures of development
if even possible.

Hmmmm...Ladybug eggs?

Rescued and Resuscitated Pitcher Plant

This guy was down and out and who wants to see that? Right! This picture
taken twenty-four hours later after a dose of some Guppy water, some clipping
and a misting of some filtered water. The pitchers were not so lucky, it's
namesake.   Nepenthes sp.? Asian Pitcher Plant.

Yes, we are going into our dry season so plants like these need some
intervention. Not knowing much on this plant, it most definitely went
into survival mode, sacrificing it's bodacious vessels.

My Three Amigos - Fall Vegtable Garden

This Japanese Eggplant , now going on a year old, belies  it's age with it's
flush of new growth. Having to keep the sap suckers (aphids) at bay with a simple
jet of water and a light brush of the finger. New blooms with the promise of new
fruit.

A new Tomato variety, Blueberries added to this fall planting.
True to it's name, with a blush of purple and apply sized to it's namesake.

This San Marzano plum tomato rounds out this trio and hoping that it lives up
to it's name. Already it's exhibiting some pale green foliage at it's growing tip,
first time for a tomato here in this potted garden.

Guppy Gets A Partner

This loan (female)Guppy gets a beautiful beau whether he likes the arrangement
or not, too early to tell. Not much difference in some arranged marriages,
where neither has much say, if any. The male appears to be giving us a hand
clap and a wide eyed stare for all to interpret.

Now I Can See , Says The Blue-eyed Rabbit

Cast iron Rabbit gets a new coat. From rust to
Bronze and some turquoises eyes to see what
this world has wrought.

This Guardian of Light by night and souvenir of times past.

One Aspect Of One Self

Quick read, great story and writing.

Author captured one aspect of myself in this time of my
life and how playing piano is still a part of my life.

'I just want to play the piano, because playing the
piano is beautiful thing to do' and it goes on.
'I played ( insert any song here ) over and over the
other evening...but each time I played it, it moved
me more and more and I played it better and better...
I felt I was transfigured or something. And that's when
I thought, this is what I want - to be moved by my own playing, but not have
to be on a stage and move a thousand other people.

The highlighted text in red, along with the text in black was copied from the
book which sums it up perfectly.

Twice in my life I had received a standing ovation for a piano performance.
Neither was to be expected nor easily given. First was when I was a young teen
and the second as a young adult. First with an audience of over two hundered
and the second with a an audience of nearly seven hundred. First was a copy
written song , second was a song composed by myself.

Neither can compare what the imagination can ponder when immersed in this
process of playing and creating.
